Beside good fish and shellfish, there is a lot of deer on the island. In recent years, more and more people have started raising wild sheep. Deer and wild sheep are exciting ingredients with wonderful taste.
On the a la Carte of Dolmsundet Hotel there is focus on local ingredients, such as scallops, deer, cheese, salmon and crabs. On the menu you will find deer fillet, wild sheep and salmon.
Dolmsundet Hotel uses local suppliers such as Hitra Gårdsmat, Dalpro gårsdsmat, Lerøy Midt, Seashell, Hitramat and Ottos Food.
Stokkøya Sjøsenter, The Beach Bar
Here you can enjoy calf from Humstad Farm, deer from Breivika Farm and vegetables and berries from a farm at nearby island Linesøya.
The Beach Bar prefers to serve organic and local food ..
The hosts grow their own organic vegetables and herbs. They have wild sheep on the farm where Stokkøya Sjøsenter originated. Meat from this farm is served at The Beach Bar.
Herbs are found in the nearby area as well as under water!
Hitra Gårdsmat is known for its excellent cheeses, which are very local – namely from cows that graze around the barn.
The cheese is very good on its own, for example a bit of Kongeost or Grotteost – cut it up into pieces and serve with a cold beer or a good cup of coffee. Local and delicious snacks!
Visit the restaurant “Oppløftet”. Here Bodil will serve you the most fresh and local dishes.

Ørland Kysthotels à la Carte menu changes every week. Their focus is on good ingredients that have a local basis and which are in season.
Cod in February, rhubarb in May, mackerel in June, strawberries in July, forest mushrooms in August and September. The flavor is best when the ingredients are at their best!
