In the old days ..
During the 1800s there was a big difference between casual and formal food. Often herring and bread during the week, and fresh meat in the weekends. The contemporary food was very rich to a hard-working people. At meals everyone gathered – it was the social meeting point.
Not only have we changed the diet and traditions, but there is a great international influence. Yet many restaurants at the coast of Trøndelag have seen the importance of taking back the traditional food on their menus. The fact that they now highlights these traditions underpins the work and the quality of the food in their parents generation.
